Although G.A.A football is an amateur sport it is played with the commitment of a professional and as such they coaches and players demand that they train like professionals. With this in mind various from teams from the G.A.A decided that a training camp was vital as it would be a rare chance for the team to be together as this is not often possible back in Ireland with so many of the players having work commitments.

The team that led the way to Browns was Monaghan G.A.A in 2003, with a return visit in April 2004. Mayo G.A.A then discovered the delights of a an all inclusive training centre that met their needs entirely. They visited in the May of 2005 and again in June 2006 both times for preparation for the All-Ireland Finals. Also in 2006 Kerry took a well-needed break from the cold in February and came to warmer climates to have a mid-season break.

Kerry and Mayo both reached the 2006 All Irland Final which is the biggest game in the GAA footballing calendar.

With the success gained by Mayo and Kerry both are keen to return and vowed to spread the word about the ease at which it was possible for them to train at standards often likened to that of a professional soccer or rugby player. This they hope will only improve the standards across the board and allow many more G.A.A football players the chance to train at such a high level.
