The Club’s secretary Bosse Anderson said “it’s been a fantastic week, the conditions were just what we wanted, the facilities are perfect and the playing surface has been excellent. We couldn’t have asked for the better, the staff have looked after us well and everything has run very smoothly. This gives the team a great head start and hopefully we will reap the rewards in the coming season.”
During Djurgardens’ training camp, Browns organised, as part of their training schedule, a competitive game against local Division of Honour side Portimonense FC. The game, watched by the Swedish Women’s National Side who were in Portugal for the Women’s Algarve World Cup (where USA beat Norway 4-1 in the final at the new Euro 2004 Stadium in Faro), was a competitive one. Portimonense started the stronger team, with the advantage of being three quarters of the way through their season and having a greater understanding of one another thus, went in at half time leading with the score standing at 1-0. Djurgardens started to find themselves in the second half, stringing a greater amount of passes together, playing more as a unit and ultimately created scoring chances. These were eventually converted and in the last 15 minutes, goals were scored putting the final score at 2-1 to the Swedish Champions.

Djurgardens DIF returned to Sweden confident that they can repeat the performances of the seasons 2002 & 2003 after being able to accomplish so much more at suitable training facilities established here in the Algarve and are looking to return next year with the possibility of extending their stay to three weeks as they believe Vilamoura and Browns Sport and Leisure Club in particular is fundamental to a team’s preparation for success.
