 The
game took place at Browns Sports and Leisure Club grass pitch, which despite
an unusual wet Carnival weekend, managed to keep its excellent surface conditions
intact.
From the start both teams played in good pace but Vilamoura XV impressed most
with a more consistent game both from forwards and backs. The local team came
back from half-time leading 12-6 but Montemor showed their skills pressing Vilamoura
until the last minutes of the game, thus producing an enjoyable and thrilling
match to watch.
We would like to highlight the “brave” Vilamoura´s stand-off,
Vitali Scerbina, and the home captain, Eddie Cooper, who managed to control his
team very well during the whole game, securing a precious win for the Algarve
based side.
