Teams from Portuguese 1st Division Rugby use Browns for pre-season friendlies

Browns Sport and Leisure Club hosted two 1st Division Portuguese Rugby clubs, Académica de Coimbra Rugby and Clube de Rugby da Lousã between 19th - 21st September and 3rd – 5th October respectively.


It was a pleasure that these teams used Browns facilities as warm up sessions to a lengthy and demanding Rugby Union season. Both teams had daily training sessions culminating in competitive games against Vilamoura Rugby XV.
	The highlight of these games goes to Clube da Lousa versus Vilamoura Rugby XV. The game consisted of fine technical skills and excellent rhythm from both forwards and backs.
This resulted in a tight game with the score tied at half time. The final score was 14 – 12 to Vilamoura. Tries from the local team (who use Browns facilities twice a week for training and their club house) were scored by Vitali Scerbina and Vladimir Cliuchinicov, which were both converted by the efficient fly-half Antonia Costa. Clube de Rugby da Lousa replied with tries from Luis Carlos and Goncalo Rendondo. Both teams then socialised afterwards in Browns Bar and Restaurant, making a enjoyable day for Portuguese rugby in Vilamoura.
